History and Comfort
Now, you can enjoy comfortable, authentic rail travel as it was in the 1910s on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (with the modern comfort of air conditioning and other conveniences). Sit back, relax, and watch the stunning countryside slip by the beautifully arched windows. The Line
Service will operate round trip from Cape Charles to other towns north on the Eastern Shore including Machipongo, Nassawadox and Exmore (with shorter excursions to nearby Cheriton and Eastville). The dining car is elegantly appointed throughout, and provides a comfortable, nostalgic experience. Riders will be served by courteous stewards, whose sole duty is to ensure riders' full enjoyment.
